Welcome to The Bangor Makerspace

It’s many things! It’s a community lab and workshop. It’s a place for tinkerers, makers, engineers, educators, scientists, artists, hackers, and geeks in general to come together to work and/or collaborate with other like-minded individuals. It’s a place to come try and fix that snow blower that stopped working years ago. It’s a place to sew that button back on your shirt that you’ve avoided wearing. It’s a place to build staging material for a local play.

A makerspace is a collaborative and community-oriented workspace that provides individuals with access to various tools, equipment, and resources to create, innovate, and work on DIY projects. Makerspaces are designed to support people of all skill levels and backgrounds, from hobbyists to professionals.

In a makerspace, you can find a diverse range of tools and technologies, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools, electronics equipment, sewing machines, and more. These facilities are usually open to members and often offer workshops, classes, and events to help individuals learn new skills and techniques.

There are a number of advantages to becoming a member of our makerspace. For one, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization that exists to serve the community. Your membership helps secure our future and helps make sure that everyone has access to our resources for years to come.

Additionally, members get access to the following:

  • 24/7 access to the space and its physical resources, including:
    • Woodshop
    • Various hand tools
    • Electronics tools
    • Computers
    • 3D Printers
    • Various other consumables
  • Physical storage for projects and materials
  • Access to members-only events
  • Full access to our community discord

Our mission is to provide a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative community workspace that empowers individuals to learn, create, and share their knowledge and skills. We strive to foster a culture of creativity and experimentation, where members can access tools, resources, and expertise to turn their ideas into reality.

Our goal is to inspire and support a diverse range of makers, from hobbyists to entrepreneurs, and to cultivate a vibrant and sustainable maker community in Bangor and beyond.

We are located just outside Bangor, at 34 Freedom Parkway, in Hermon.
